Two Chattanooga restaurants and one North Georgia restaurant have been cited for reasons including improper food temperature and storage.
Subway, located at 2525 Desales Ave., was given a score of 80 after a health inspection found staff lacking knowledge about food temperatures. A lid was found open, chip cases were on the floor and the sanitizer water in a triple sink was dirty.
The Golden Corral at 760 Battlefield Parkway in Georgia also received an 80 after an employee was found wearing the same gloves while conducting multiple tasks involving food and equipment. Foods were found to be cooling with tight-fitting lids and several wet wiping towels were left on the food prep counters.
A second Chattanooga restaurant, Mi Casita, located at 3029 Rossville Boulevard, got a score of 81 since the person in charge was lacking in food safety knowledge and food had to be discarded from a broken freezer. Multiple foods had been left uncovered and the carpet at the kitchen entrance was found to be excessively dirty.

The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department inspects restaurants twice a year and grades the businesses on a 100-point scale. Scores below 70 require corrective action.
Restaurants are reinspected if they fail to meet critical standards. To file a health-related complaint, call the Department of Environmental Health at 209-8110. The scores are original and do not reflect on-the-spot changes, which sometimes lead to upward adjustments.
